Fishing reels, where the line is found on a revolving spool with bearings, is a Baitcasting Fishing Reel. Sometimes it is called an overhead reel because it is normally set on top or above the rod.

Most bait casting reels today are made to work with a several different types of fishing lines and can usually be palmed or thumbed to increase the drag, set the hook or instantly stop the lure when casting for more accuracy.
Although it may seem easy to master casting of a baitcasting fishing reel, it still may require practice for best results in casting the lure to the specific area desired.
